About Gorilla Trekking, Gorilla Safari information - Uganda & Rwanda
Welcome to Advantage Safaris-a local tour operator based in Uganda and Rwanda. We are a specialist safari operator that has broken away from the crowd of group safari operators that offer rushed wildlife safaris with little or no flexibility. Our main goal is to fit in with our clients hopes and aspirations for their holiday. We specialize in small group safaris Tailor-Made to the highest possible level of customer service.
All our safaris are Tailor-Made and almost all are private groups. The itineraries we have on the website are only examples of what we offer and can be modified and amended to suit the clients aspirations. We work with our clients long before they arrive in the country to ensure that we are going to give them what they really want. We fully understand that what may be perfect for one client, may not be ideal for another. We believe that Tailor-Made is about the client and we discuss,we make suggestions and we ask questions. What amount of time do they have available, when do they want to travel, which places/national parks do they want to visit, what type of accommodation would they like to stay in,and what are the aims and aspirations of the trip?.
A gorilla spends most of its time at rest. A normal day starts in the morning at 6am to look for food within their territorial home usually 20 sq kilometer. The rest of the time of the day is spent traveling and feeding. Gorillas are unique among primates; they are vegetarians by nature and spend most of their time on the ground. Uganda has a rich biodiversity resulting from its location, Topographical setting and altitudinal range (600-5100m) and it falls at the confluence of a number of regional centers of endemism or biomass each with a characteristic avifauna. Habitats include; arid sem-desert, rich savannahs, lowland and montane rain forests, vast wetlands and an Afro-alpine zone. No wonder Uganda has more bird species than any other Country in Africa. The country boasts a national list of 1010 species; a figure representing more than half the bird species that can be found in the whole of Africa and is the most accessible to see the legendary Shoe bill; great apes and other Alberline rift.
